Pumpkin Butter

Who says Halloween treats can’t be healthy?

Season: Autumn

Preparation time: 10 min

Cooking time: 60 min

Ingredients for 2 jars (approx. 32 portions):

  • 420 g Pumpkin purée (Butternut, Squash)

  • 70 g brown sugar

  • 3 tbsp. ground cinnamon

  • 2 tsp. ground ginger

  • 2 tsp. nutmeg

  • 1 ½ tsp. ground allspice

  • 1 ½ tsp. ground cloves

  • 1/2 tsp. salt


  1. Peel and cut the pumpkin in large cubs, boil/steam it until soft (approx. 30 minutes).

  2. Then blend the cooked pumpkin until you obtain a smooth consistency.

  3. Place pumpkin purée, brown sugar, pumpkin spices and salt in a saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes while stirring occasionally. Transfer to a sterile, airtight jar, let cool and use as needed as a spread on toast, in oatmeal or even in your latte to turn it into a pumpkin spice latte!
